Happy Sunday everybody! I hope that you are having a blessed day!
This morning I went to church then came home. For weeks I have been wanting to start reading my Bible more. This area is another struggle I have. I pray often, try not to miss church on Sunday’s but I fail on my daily reading of the Bible. In my Bible there is even a daily calendar of what to read and a place to check it off. So not only do I want to be a healthier person physically but I would like to be one spiritually.
1John chapter 1 verse 4 KJV
4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
This tells me I can overcome anything with God.
So I try not to do whole lot on Sunday because it is a day of rest and I work the next few days so I need it to keep me going. I came home and fixed something fast and easy and as you know it’s usually not healthy if it’s easy lol My family is very picky. More so the men in the house. They really like fatty foods. I try to substitute when I can and know they won’t notice.
It is also very expensive to have two different meals not to mention time consuming. So I spend extra on myself right now by buying and drinking shakeology. I became a coach so that I could get a discount because every little bit helps. Today I had the vanilla with PB powder it’s pretty good. I know today is not going to be a big day for veggies so I am glad I have this shake to make me feel better about myself lol I’m not trying to sell you anything I’m just telling you because it’s part of my diet and I am new at drinking it and later I will know if it helps my situation or not. I have heard really good things about it and I want to see for myself.
So let’s move on to my not so healthy lunch. I love hot dogs, especially if they are baked in the oven. I can’t make hot dogs for my family and not eat one. That is just torture that I don’t need. However, there is a trick to eating a hot dog if your on a diet. Like I said in my previous post I am a calorie counter. Your mind is supposed to keep you in line. But you have eyes that see, a nose that smells, ears that hear, hands that feel, and a mouth to taste. They all work against you I do believe when it comes to dieting. Especially your eyes. Hence the saying your eyes are bigger than your belly. Our mind can control these senses but sometimes like a parent gives into what they want.
If I give you a large plate ,1 hot dog and a serving of chips, your eyes is going to tell your stomach that’s all you get then the stomach is going to tell the mind this is not enough before you even start eating. Then you will proceed to fill the plate till your eyes are happy with what they see. So this is how I fixed it.
I turned one hot dog into two and a 1/2 a serving of chips into a whole. I first took the hot dog bun , cut it in half, scraped out the middle. Took one wienee and cut it in half placed on each half of the bun. Then I use vietti hot dog sauce because it is fat free and only ten cals a serving. Just about a tsp of shredded cheese. Bake and done. For chips I took out six chips because a serving is 13 (BBQ lays) and broke them. Yes I know this sounds crazy but it is so crazy it works for me lol lunch 385 cals, normal would be at least twice that amount.
It made all my senses happy and my mind was happy too. Proportion is a big factor in weight loss. Depriving yourself will lead to overeating because you will not be satisfied. There are some people that have this super strength to give up food that is unhealthy without looking back. I am not one of those people. I know you can’t eat bad 24/7 but I know what can make or break a diet or in my case a life change.
