Thoughts about today

First thought today was…..it’s too cold!

Today, I started out my regular routine. I had laundry, cleaning and cooking to start off this new year.

I did have a good day even though I had plenty of work to do. Finding happiness in a day can be hard sometimes, but today was pretty easy.

I got a Instant Pot for Christmas. I’ve already used it three times. I really like it so far. I’ve made beans, meatballs, and today chili. I love that you can sauté before pressure cooking all in one pan.

My younger kids are still on Christmas break till Thursday. My oldest is home from college/work till tomorrow. I really enjoy having all my family home.

Today, I feel amazing compared to last week. I either had a very bad cold or flu and on top of that pink eye. My son had been sick and he passed it on to me along with the pink eye. Which he got from school before break. It took me five days before I got it.

My husband and I had our 17th anniversary yesterday. I was so happy to feel well enough to go out to eat. I only had runny nose and slightly red eye. My symptoms are almost all gone. Which is a good I was afraid I was going to start this year sick. Many prayers and zinc was the best medicine.

I still love my Fitbit. My old one died and I didn’t get a new one till after Thanksgiving. I bought it online on Black Friday. I was so happy to have one again. I got the Alta this time with heart rate. I like it so much. Last week was the first time I fell below 100,000 steps for a week. I only got a little over 40,000 which was very bad. Today, I am back on track and I reached my goal of 12,500.

Nothing exciting for the first day of 2018. It’s just been a good, ordinary day. Which is fine by me! Because, my goal is to find something good in every day!

Day 337  My Struggle…….

Feeling much better since my chiropractor visit yesterday. I’ve just been tired all day. Today the kids had to go to school and meet their teacher. Tomorrow is their first whole day back. Summer vacation went by way to fast.

I did not weigh in this morning. I figured I didn’t need any negativity today.

I have done really good on my calories today. I’ve also got in 16,000 steps with 98 active minutes. Zumba is great for getting my cardio in!

Day 335  My Struggle……..

Thirty more days and I’ll be finished with blogging. I think sometimes I’ll miss it and other times I’m glad. It’s hard to talk about food and exercise everyday. Especially, if you have more bad days than good. 

Today has been a good one. I logged my food and it still says I’m on the right path to reaching my goal. I’m still having doubts though. My weight fluctuates up and down so much, I rarely have two days in a row where my weight is the same. I’m not talking about ounces either. I can go up or down 2 pounds in 24 hours. Which if frustrating when it keeps going up. 

I have over 20,000 steps for the day and 159 active minutes. Let’s hope the scale is in a good mood tomorrow. Today I weighed in at 155.2. That’s still ten pounds to lose. Just a couple days ago I was at 153.5. 

I know I can lose ten pounds by doing drastic dieting. To me that is still a fail because when you do that you gain it all back as soon as you eat normal. I’m just hoping that water weight is my downfall for the added two pounds. Like I always say “The Struggle is Real”.

Day 334    My Struggle…….

I cooked and did laundry all day today. I cooked a big meal so there will leftovers tomorrow. I like to cook, but I don’t like doing it everyday lol. Especially, in the summer and when I’m on a diet.

I just finished logging my food for the day. I’m pretty happy with how I managed my calories today. I fried my family some zucchini today but I baked mine in the oven. I made some baked onion rings too. That was pretty much my supper with a small ear of corn. For lunch I had garden tomatoes and cottage cheese. After Zumba, I treated myself to some Halo ice cream.

I got in over 14,000 steps so far with 63 active minutes.  Right now I’m sitting outside enjoying the evening. The sky is quite mesmerizing this evening. I took a picture for my blog but it doesn’t do it justice. No camera or device can capture what is seen through your eyes.

Day 328   My Struggle…….

It’s been a week since I’ve buckled down on my calorie intake and exercise. I believe I’m ending this blog the way I began. I use my fitness pal app along with my Fitbit app. I am eating a certain amount of calories and making sure I burn enough too. So far it seems to be working. I’ll find out in 37 more days!

I had Zumba this evening so I have in over 16,000 steps right now with 107 active minutes.

My eating has been good today! I have calories left for a snack later for when my oldest and I watch a movie. For dinner I had fresh sautéed corn and tomatoes with feta on top. It was really good. I liked it anyway. Nobody else in the house tried it. They ate leftover spaghetti.

Day 327   My Struggle………..

It’s Monday and it’s been a warm one! 

I had Zumba today so no problem getting in my steps today. I have in almost 20,000 steps and 124 active minutes. I practiced some before Zumba so that helped with my steps too.

I’ve done good on eating today too! I have some calories left for a snack. Which is good because my oldest came home and I know she’s going to eat snacks in front of me. Kids are really bad for that and husbands.

Thirty-seven days left and 9 pounds to go!

I think I can, I think I can!

Day 274   My Struggle……..

It’s almost 10:30 and I decided to start some laundry. It will be a little less I’ll have to do tomorrow.

I felt better today. It’s amazing what a little tens unit will do for you. 

My eating was good until I went to VBS and I had some cookies for snack. The good thing is I’ve burned up a lot of calories so that helped. I’m over in my fat totals but it wasn’t because of bad food it’s because of the almonds I ate. I had them for breakfast and lunch. 

I have almost 23,000 steps in with 165 active minutes. 115 active minutes was Zumba and the rest was from VBS. 

That’s sums it up today! Lot of Zumba and VBS!
