Hurry Up Spring

It’s been a little over three weeks since my last blog.

My life has been uneventful. I don’t mind though. The older I get the more I enjoy being home. We have had a few teaser spring days since my last blog. Supposed to have a few more the next few days just for it to be taken away the day after spring officially arrives.

Daylight savings time is here and that makes me happy. It’s crazy that one hour forward makes some people happier and others not so much. I’m not a morning person so that must be why I like the longer evenings.

I’ve been doing Zumba on Mondays. It’s a good workout. I try to take walks when it’s warm enough. I was jogging then the weather stopped cooperating and I was forced to stay in. Okay maybe forced is a strong word but I don’t like cold weather. It makes me hurt all over. Another annoying thing about getting older. This week I had ZUMBA class twice. There was a group of college kids in for spring break. They liked Mondays class so I had an extra class for them today. They were so sweet. Kinda, felt young for awhile there.

Tomorrow, I’m going Easter dress shopping with my youngest. I have to say I am quite upset with myself. I have not lost any weight I gained. I have been losing and gaining the same four pounds over and over. I took a whole year to lose weight got where I needed to be just to gain half of it back. I had my picture taken today and a side view is never really a good angle. Today, was no exception to that. I was so disgusted in myself. Maybe it was the kick in the pants I needed to get back on track.

This week I have done good. No eating after 7:30 and I am trying to plank at least 30 seconds a day. It’s a challenge we’re doing in a group.

I know I am whining a lot but this is real. Where I logged my weight with the Fitness Pal app for the last few years I notice a pattern. I am always heavier in the winter than any other season. I am the smallest by the end of summer and early fall. Which coincides with I’m happier during the times I’m smallest and kinda depressed in the winter lol.

I just thought I’d share in case someone else might be feeling like me. I might get knocked down but I always get up. One of these days I’m going to stay up. I just gotta figure out how.

Day 362  My Struggle………

What a fall like day we had here today. I don’t know if I’m ready to let summer go. I am looking forward to making a big pot of chili when it gets a little cooler.

Today was a day of cleaning, laundry, cooking, and Zumba. It’s been a good day though. I enjoy getting things done. 

I took no nap today. I’m trying to kick that habit. I want to start going to bed earlier and I can’t do that if I take nap during the day.

My eating has been good but a normal day. I still cut my calories but nothing extreme. I did use my measuring cup so I wouldn’t eat too much mashed potatoes and stuffing. I had 1/3 cup of both of those. Then I also had 1/2 a roll and some turkey. It’s hard to cook a good meal and not have any. 

I got in my steps with 60 active minutes for the day.

Last night I got into the peanut butter and I had a few little mini carmel apple milky ways. That was not good. That’s why I need to go to bed earlier. I won’t be eating late at night after the kitchen is supposed to be closed. Hopefully, I can control myself this evening.

Day 356   My Struggle………

I’ve been busy today. I went to town and got groceries. I was making excellent time, feeling good, having a pretty good start to my day. Then I got stuck behind a train. I was two minutes from my home and the coal train got me. This is what feeds our family so I didn’t want to be too upset. I sat there for an hour. It was awful. I didn’t let it ruin my good day though.

I came home got groceries put away and straightened the house. Then I worked on a new fun song for Zumba. My fun song is usually a song from the eighties lol. If you’re wondering , it was Conga. 

Thanks to practicing and having Zumba class I have in 20,000 steps with over 150 active minutes! It’s been awhile since I sweat that much.

My eating has been good today calorie wise but needs work on the nutrition side. I’m under calories for the day though.

Day 334    My Struggle…….

I cooked and did laundry all day today. I cooked a big meal so there will leftovers tomorrow. I like to cook, but I don’t like doing it everyday lol. Especially, in the summer and when I’m on a diet.

I just finished logging my food for the day. I’m pretty happy with how I managed my calories today. I fried my family some zucchini today but I baked mine in the oven. I made some baked onion rings too. That was pretty much my supper with a small ear of corn. For lunch I had garden tomatoes and cottage cheese. After Zumba, I treated myself to some Halo ice cream.

I got in over 14,000 steps so far with 63 active minutes.  Right now I’m sitting outside enjoying the evening. The sky is quite mesmerizing this evening. I took a picture for my blog but it doesn’t do it justice. No camera or device can capture what is seen through your eyes.

Day 330  My Struggle……..

Last night I ended up going over my calorie allowance. Plus, it was too late to be eating anyway. I sure could tell a difference in my body this morning. I felt bloated all day. 

I’ve done much better today. I also don’t have any cravings this evening which is a good thing. I guess I should of ate an ice cream cone last night at church because I ended up eating one at home after I ate other snacks first.

I had two Zumba classes tonight. I now have over 20,000 steps with 141 active minutes. Let’s hope I burned off last night calories and a little extra too.

Day 328   My Struggle…….

It’s been a week since I’ve buckled down on my calorie intake and exercise. I believe I’m ending this blog the way I began. I use my fitness pal app along with my Fitbit app. I am eating a certain amount of calories and making sure I burn enough too. So far it seems to be working. I’ll find out in 37 more days!

I had Zumba this evening so I have in over 16,000 steps right now with 107 active minutes.

My eating has been good today! I have calories left for a snack later for when my oldest and I watch a movie. For dinner I had fresh sautéed corn and tomatoes with feta on top. It was really good. I liked it anyway. Nobody else in the house tried it. They ate leftover spaghetti.

Day 309   My Struggle………..

Any of my readers out there need some rain? I’ve had more than enough here. It has rained all week. I came home from Zumba and one of my trees is about uprooted. My husband is going to try to fix it.

I had to run some errands today. Then I came home and cleaned up the house. I also worked on a new Zumba routine. Then it was time for class. I did two Zumba classes in a row. Needless to say I got in my steps today. I have over 21,000 steps with 139 active minutes. All of them Zumba minutes.

I’ve ate so so today. I am just a little over on my sodium. I did have a plain chicken sandwich from McDonald’s. That’s why my sodium went over. I’m way under on my calories and everything else. So, I’m happy about that.
